“I am seeking. I am striving. I am in it with all my heart.” – Vincent van Gogh
My entire life, I have loved to create. I was blessed with a family that allowed me to explore and express myself in whatever way I needed, which normally manifested in Christmas plays written, acted, and choreographed by yours truly. All that encouragement led to me learning the bass guitar, the ukulele, and singing. I remember the first time my father ever heard me sing. I was 16 years old, and until this moment I had only ever sung when no one was home, and all the windows were shut. I came home and told my father that I had auditioned for the school musical, and he said, “You can sing!”. I sat across from him at the kitchen table and sang my audition song and I remember that being a pivotal moment in my life because I realized the power my voice could have on someone. I have continued to use my voice from that point on in plays, in musicals, in my customer service jobs, and now in Voice Over. Every day I strive to create and become better, because I know that my voice and my hard work will have a powerful impact on someone.
